Steps to Increase Timeout in PuTTY

🔧 Steps to Increase Timeout in PuTTY

  1. Open PuTTY.

  2. In the left sidebar, go to:

    Connection

  3. On the right side, look for:

    • Seconds between keepalives: Set this to a non-zero value (e.g., 60 seconds).
      • This sends a null packet every 60 seconds to keep the session alive.
    • Enable TCP keepalives: Make sure this is checked.
  4. (Optional) To save these settings:

    • Go back to the Session category.
    • Enter a name under Saved Sessions.
    • Click Save.
